Annamalai’s Idhu Namma Iyakkam Registers 10 Lakh Volunteers in 10 Hours

Former Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai has made a dramatic political move by launching his new initiative, *Idhu Namma Iyakkam* (This Is Our Movement), immediately after resigning from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. Within just ten hours of its launch, the movement attracted more than 10 lakh volunteer registrations, signaling a surge of grassroots enthusiasm.

Announcing the milestone on X, Annamalai described the overwhelming response as a reflection of “the growing belief in our shared vision and collective mission.” He expressed gratitude to the volunteers who registered, emphasizing that the movement is built on trust and collective participation.

The rapid mobilization underscores Annamalai’s ability to connect with a wide base of supporters, particularly in Tamil Nadu, where his leadership style has often been described as assertive and uncompromising. His resignation from the BJP marks a significant turning point, as he now seeks to channel public energy into a new political platform that promises inclusivity and direct engagement.

Observers note that the sheer scale of registrations within hours highlights both the organizational strength of Annamalai’s team and the resonance of his message among the public. Whether *Idhu Namma Iyakkam* evolves into a full‑fledged political party or remains a mass movement, its early momentum suggests that Annamalai has successfully captured the imagination of a large section of Tamil Nadu’s electorate.
