From Digital to Physical, AI is Touching Every Aspect of Consumer Life

Artificial intelligence is no longer confined to software and screens—it is increasingly manifesting in physical products that shape everyday consumer experiences. At CES 2026, AI appeared in surprising forms: home chefs that automate cooking, dental floss infused with AI sensors, shape‑shifting beds, “smart pets,” and humanoid robots designed to provide companionship and perform household chores.

The most striking innovations came from sectors such as smart mobility, healthtech, agetech, and robotics. Driverless mobility dominated conversations, with Bosch unveiling personalised cockpits for autonomous cars. “After automated driving, what you want next is a personalised car,” explained Tanja Rueckert, Bosch’s global chief digital officer, highlighting integration with Microsoft Office to enable productivity on the move.

Nvidia, meanwhile, emphasized its role in bringing AI from the digital to the physical world. Partnering with Mercedes Benz, the company envisions vehicles as programmable, updatable machines that continuously improve through data and software. “Nvidia will be the intelligence backbone,” said Ali Kani, underscoring the transformative potential of physical AI in automotive design.

Robotics also stole the spotlight. LG showcased its Cloid humanoid robot, designed to manage daily chores and create “zero‑labour homes,” reflecting the company’s vision of fully AI‑powered living spaces. Chinese startup Ollobot introduced a robo‑pet capable of reading gestures and body language, aiming to strengthen family bonds. Japanese startup LudensAI presented Cocomo, a companion robot with memory and interactive play features, designed to foster emotional connections with humans.

Together, these innovations illustrate how AI is moving beyond digital interfaces into tangible, physical forms that reshape consumer lifestyles. From mobility to home life, the technology is becoming a pervasive presence—one that promises convenience, personalization, and companionship, while raising new questions about how humans will coexist with intelligent machines.
